How to Tackle Essay Ideas That Work
Finding college essay topics can be trickier than you think. You want something that captivates your reader and scores you those high grades but choosing the one you can actually do justice to is one of the hardest aspects of the whole process. In this article, I want to give you three top tips to help with this process.
1. If you are not interested why should anyone else be?
This is key to a really successful essay. If you’re not interested in why should anybody else care about it? Your enthusiasm for a topic will show in your writing and make it enjoyable to read. Even in cases where you are given a topic then you should still try to find an angle which interests you and therefore your readers. Passion and enthusiasm can genuinely be the difference between pass and fail even if it’s written the night before the deadline.
2. If you know about it, it’s a whole lot easier.
In situations where you have total control over the topic you should choose something that you know at least something about. Writing of any nature can be a grueling task at times so doing this can make it more enjoyable for you. Other benefits from taking this approach are that you’ll have less research to do, it will involve less effort and the paper itself will be easier and more importantly quicker.
Make sure your topic is a manageable size
A lot of the time you will have too much to write about and not be able to fit it into the word count limit. A topic which is too large needs to be broken down into a manageable amount to write about. For example, ‘Presidents of the United States of America’ is far too big a subject to cover but if you narrow it down to a specific time period of say 1900 to 1930 you may have a better chance of fitting it in with your word count. You could even narrow it down further by just comparing and contrast three or four particular presidents.
If you are struggling with finding essay ideas, then following these three steps will make the process a lot easier for you and ultimately get you the grades you crave for. In the end, it will enable you to choose easy essay topics that you can handle and make more interesting for the reader. Good luck.
